The Napocensis Protocol

Autism is a condition with psychological manifestations, mainly the halt of the psychological development of the child before the age of 3.

The Napocensis Protocol for the Treatment of Autism is based, according to Dr. Radu Naghiu, on the following treatment principles and objectives:

Principles of the treatment for autism:

The first principle – through the drug treatment and/or therapy that the child undertakes, he/she has to go through all the development stages of a neurotypical child.

The second principle – the drug treatment and/or therapy starts with the area where the age of development of the autistic child is the lowest.

The objectives of the treatment of autism are:

1. The autistic child must become capable of expressing his/her feelings again;

2. The autistic child must start learning naturally and spontaneously again;

3. The autistic child must receive a structured learning program so he/she can recover the knowledge deficit, compared to children his/her age;

4. He/she must become a ‘rascal’ like children his/her age.

The treatment for autism has two large components:

a drug treatment to treat the symptoms of autism, to restore the capacity of having and expressing feelings and to restore the capacity to learn,

a structured learning process to recover the knowledge deficit in all areas: cognitive, self-serving, motor, language-communication, socialisation, play, and last but not least, affective-emotional.

In the first case, in order to treat the symptoms of autism, to restore the capacity to have and express feelings and to restore the capacity to learn, a homeopathic drug treatment and neurotrophics are prescribed.

In the second case, in order to recover the knowledge deficit, a structured learning program is needed. Dr. Radu Naghiu recommends ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis), which must be supplemented with speech therapy, kinesiotherapy, art therapy, play therapy and occupational therapy, with the involvement of the family in the learning process and with the affective-emotional involvement of the family in the relationship with their autistic child.

The Napocensis Protocol respects the principles and objectives of the treatment for autism

1.  After the diagnostic is given, the treatment for the first objective starts, so that the child can begin to have and express feelings again.

The capacity to have and express feelings is restored through homeopathic drug treatment. The homeopathic drug treatment starts with a month-long field treatment, the symptomatic treatment and the heavy metal detoxification.

During this period there is an emphasis on the affective relationship between the family and the child. During this first month of treatment the autistic child starts to feel the love of the family and starts to offer his/her love to the parents, starts to be more curious and starts to explore the environment he/she lives in.

After the diagnostic is given, a psychological evaluation of the development level is also carried out.

2. a. After the first month of homeopathic treatment, the ABA therapy begins at an hour a day, increasing the number of therapy hours to the maximum number of hours during which the child works efficiently (is paying attention, is cooperative, receptive and doesn’t get tired). The parents are actively involved, continuing the generalization at home.

2.b. The homeopathic drug treatment continues by beginning the vaccine detoxification, administering the vaccine in homeopathic dilution, starting with the last vaccine administered, ending with the first and continuing with pregnancy medication (if necessary).

3. Speech therapy, kinesiotherapy, sensory therapy, occupational therapy, play therapy are also associated, according to the child’s needs.

By following the homeopathic drug treatment, the child breaks out of his own world at the age where the mental development has stopped. From this development level he/she starts to learn and will go through all the development stages of the neurotypical child.

By following this treatment protocol, for children diagnosed early, an hour of behaviour intervention (ABA) a day with a professional is enough. By following this protocol the parents are actively involved in the therapy. The child has a correspondence notebook, where the tutor writes what the child has been taught every day. The parent continues the therapy at home by repeating the taught notions and by generalizing what the child has learned at the centre.

By following this protocol, for the families of children diagnosed early, the monthly costs are reasonable (about 20 hours of ABA). At the same time a tutor can work with up to 4 children a day, which makes the ABA therapy much more accessible, considering the fact that the number of specialists is low compared to the number of children already diagnosed, which is continuously rising.
