What is homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a medical specialty 200 years old, based on the principle of similarity (the daily administration of certain substances (of mineral, plant or animal origin) to a group of clinically healthy people, will make appear a group of somatic and/or psychological symptoms).
People with those symptoms, signs of a disease, can be cured if they receive the substance that produces the symptoms in infinitesimal concentrations.

How does homeopathic treatment work?

When we cut onions we get watery eyes and nose. In viral rhinitis, we also get watery eyes and nose. If we want to treat viral rhinitis with homeopathic medicine, this medicine is Allium cepa (onion) in homeopathic dilution.
Homeopathic medicine helps the body react in the direction it needs. If a person eats a rotten egg, the body will react by eliminating it in the form of diarrhea. If given a homeopathic medicine for diarrhea caused by spoiled food, it is possible that those drugs to not stop diarrhea and give one or two more powerful stools to completely remove the altered egg.

What does homeopathy treats in autism?

Infantile autism is characterized by a constellation of symptoms. There is a group of homeopathic medicines covering these symptoms.

• The child’s territory – through a constitutional homeopathic medicine;
• The symptoms – the homeopathic symptomatic medication;
• Detoxification for heavy metals – that metal in homeopathic dilution;
• Detoxification for vaccines received

The main condition is the specific “field”, the vaccine being a possible trigger (many parents actually tell the following: child mental development stopped after vaccination).
By a specific “field” we understand a certain constitutional type for which we administer the homeopathic medicine.
For symptoms we use one or more homeopathic medicines which cover the most important and urgent symptoms the parents specify.
For detoxification of the vaccines we use the vaccine in homeopathic dilution, administered in successive dilutions, in reverse order of the vaccination program (Dr. Tinus Smith method, Holland) and continue with the drugs received by the mother during pregnancy, in successive homeopathic dilutions.
With homeopathic medication we treat symptoms of autism and the child’s “field”, we detoxify the organism of all vaccines, medicines taken during pregnancy and heavy metal.
After detoxification the immunity gained from vaccination is not lost!
Through detoxification – a step of homeopathic treatment, signs of drainage appear.
-  These can be: a soft stool, foul smelling, or normal chair, but noisome and several times a day, diarrhea and / or a rash.
-  During drainages, some children experience a period of apparent loss of all acquisitions gained until that moment and for hours or days they display the autistic symptoms held prior to any treatment. It is a sign of drainage, of a solid disposal. It is also a proof that there is truth in the stories of parents and that homeopathic medicine works.
-  This episode of “noisy drainage” is very frustrating for the family, child and therapists, but it’s also beneficial. After this, the child is recovering as fast as the drainage symptoms have installed, and has massive acquisitions in an area that was deficient.
Eg: For someone who does ABA, after this drainage, a program that used to take weeks to be mastered, it will take only an hour or less. After each “noisy drain” the child becomes more human and learns quickly.

The objectives of homeopathic treatment in autism

-  The first objective is to treat the most serious and troublesome symptoms: self and / or aggression towards others, the feelings of terror at night, extreme anxiety (where met).
The child with autistic disorder has object-parents to be used when he needs something. Between two needs, parents do not matter to him.
-  The next objective is to restore the parent-child relationship, transforming the object-parent into a real parent
Because of the homeopathic treatment, the child becomes more present, more attentive, begins to receive and feel the love of parents, is more affectionate, displaying affection spontaneously and building an emotional relationship with parents. Fear of new starts to decline, the child becomes more curious and starts exploring.
The child begins to have a sense of danger and fears he has never had, because as he exits his own world, normal fears that the typical child in different stages of psychological development has, appear.
Self-stimulations decrease, the child starts babbling and accepts the company of other children around him. Also, he begins to spontaneously learn by copying what he sees the others around him do.
Following homeopathic treatment, the child exits his own world at the age at which mental development stopped. From there he will begin to learn and pass through all stages of mental development of typical child.

The evolution of children with autism disorder who follow a homeopathic treatment

All symptoms, moods, the child has had in the past and not been cured, but have only been suppressed, will reappear in reverse order of occurrence.
Self-stimulations, rituals are often suppressed by behavioral therapy. A socially unacceptable behavior is replaced by a socially acceptable behavior. Behavioral therapy does not act on the self-stimulation desire the child has, but the child is being directed to do otherwise.
After starting the homeopathic treatment, the latest acquisitions that have been acquired mechanically through a learning process are lost, the only ones to remain are the real knowledge. What the child learned mechanically should be pointed out again and so that the child can learn naturally as a typical developed child.
After the homeopathic treatment starts, the child begins to receive and give affection and needs to be surrounded by the love of parents (not by despair).
At the beginning of treatment, the child has the age when his development stopped (one year or less). Even if because of ABA the child has showed progresses in the cognitive and communication areas, the emotional-affective component has recovered very little. And in this case the emotional-affective age of the child is one year old or less and this is also the age recovery begins.
Because the child becomes affectionate, he starts socializing with his family and he doesn’t want to spend any more time alone. He begins to communicate non-verbally, and then to babble, to make sounds, to pronounce words, even if not correctly, and last, sentences.
The homeopathic treatment enables to child to feel his parents’ affection and to give affection. Becoming affectionate, the desire to communicate appears and this is why the language acquisition begins. From this point, the self-care and self-serving skills are learned easily.

Limits of the homeopathic treatment

Because of the homeopathic treatment the child becomes able to feel and live and express human emotions. He becomes again able to learn naturally and spontaneously.
What does the homeopathic treatment not do?
It doesn’t teach the child how to do things, therefore should be complemented by a learning process.
The learning process involves first of all an assessment of the overall development and then an elaboration of a recovery and learning plan.
For the learning process we recommend Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), which, if done correctly, has a very high efficiency. The minus factor of this therapy is its high cost, a cost not all families can afford.
Good results can also be obtained when the child works with a psychologist or pedagogue with experience in working with children with disabilities.
Autistic child’s therapy team is complex and made up primarily of parents, child psychiatrist, a psychologist with experience in family with an autistic child counseling, ABA coordinator, tutors, speech therapist, physical and art therapist.
